Tension prevailed on Monday noon when a mysterious bomb went off at New Muzaffarabad Colony in the limits of Quaidabad police station. According to SHO Amanullah Marwat, at around 12:50 pm, the bomb was exploded at an abandoned place where garbage was dumped near Baba Darbar at New Haqqani Road located in New Muzaffarabad Colony.

He said although nobody or property was damaged in this incident, but the same created tension and panic in the area. Replying to a question, he dispelled the impression that the said timer explosive device was planted at the same place where it was exploded, saying the initial investigation suggested that KMC workers, without recognising it, carried from some other place and dumped it here.

Meanwhile, the BDS officials said the device that carried some four kilograms of high explosive, ball barring, nut bolts and other stuff was attached with timer, and added that they had recovered some 70 ball bearings from the crime spot. Further investigation was underway.
